Our apps work on your Mac, and the files you open in them are never sent to us or anyone else. We only collect what we need to sell you an app and help you with it.

Who we are

Beautiful Software is an Australian sole trader business, ABN 00 000 000 000. You can contact us at hello@beautifulsoftware.app.

Your files stay on your Mac

Our apps do their work on your own computer. For example, Earshot transcribes recordings on your Mac. We never receive your recordings, transcripts or any other files you use with our apps.

What we collect

  • When you buy an app: your name, email address, country and the app you bought. Your payment is handled by Stripe. We see the card type and its last four digits, never the full number.
  • When you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to tell us.
  • When you visit this website: our host keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we collect it

  • To process your purchase and send your receipt, download link and licence key.
  • To answer your questions and give refunds.
  • To keep the business records the Australian Taxation Office requires, generally for five years.
  • To keep our website secure and working.

We don’t sell your information, and we won’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

  • Stripe, which processes payments.
  • Vercel, which hosts this website.
  • your email provider, which handles our email.

These companies may store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.

Seeing or correcting your information

Email us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted once we no longer need it for tax records. We’ll reply within 30 days.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, email us first and we’ll try to fix it. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
